My Mini Cooper S (F56) has arrived
It feels like I’ve been waiting forever but finally my new Mini Cooper S has arrived – all two turbo litres charged of it!
I’ve not done many miles in it yet but I love it already. It’s surprisingly comfortable to drive – the sport seats are almost like armchairs and I fit nice and snug in them plus they are highly adjustable, along with the steering wheel so you can set a good position.
It goes like a rocket when in sport mode and seems pretty frugal on the old fuel when in green mode as well so best of both worlds. The Harmon Kardon stereo sounds great and cabin noise is pretty low. The heads up display is quite interesting – I wasn’t sure if it would be any good or whether it would just get in the way but so far it seems to work quite well. Although its right in front of you it doesn’t block the view and when it’s switched off I found I kept looking for it so guess its useful 🙂
Obviously the most important feature is the coloured internal lights – got to have some pretty lights. You have a selection of colours to choose from or you can let it cycle through them (not sure the pink suits me though). I need to see if it can be dimmed at night though. The LED headlights are searingly bright – much better than standard normal lights although maybe not much different to Xenon ones.
The only issue with it all so far is the fact hat the manual is over two hundred pages long plus there is even more built into the main console to read. Guess I shouldn’t have bought so many options!
