I’m very proud to say this photo was just awarded the Highly Honoured status in the 2023 Natures Best photographic competition. This is an annual competition entered by thousands of people from all over the world and it has a high standard so I’m pretty pleased about it 😊
Make sure you check out the link and go see all the other pictures as there’s some bloody good ones!

It was taken in the Olare Motorogi Conservancy, part of the Maasai Mara area of Kenya, one afternoon. We were out on an early morning game drive and came across these two Leopards (mum and sibling) up in a tree arguing over a kill.

They eventually came down and we must have spent 2-3 hours following them as they wandered around doing Leopard stuff.

Later that afternoon we found them again wandering about and, with a large dose of luck (and a good driver!), I happened to be in the right place to get the shot. It only lasted a few seconds and I just had the right angle to get the tail wrapping over the head and being able to see both faces.
Here’s another one from the sequence 😃
